Navy Yard's Newest Brewery Opens to Sold-Out Crowd on Opening Weekend

Navy Yard Brewing Company opened its doors last Saturday to a line stretching around the block on Tingey Street, with the taproom reaching capacity within 45 minutes. Co-founders Marcus Bell and Jasmine Torres, both longtime D.C. residents, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting alongside Ward 6 Councilmember.The 8,000-square-foot space features 18 taps, a full kitchen specializing in smoked meats, and a dog-friendly patio overlooking the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. Their flagship IPA, "Yard Dog," sold out by Sunday afternoon."We wanted to create something that felt like the neighborhood's living room," Torres said. "A place where you bump into your neighbors, not just tourists."
